Video - Installation and VJ

I have performed live video and visual installations as a VJ since 1994. The performance is really the culmination of all of the production, organization, design, set-up, and testing of the content and technology that will bring the imagery to the eyes of the viewing public. This process is complicated and fun, as it is really just problem solving at its best. Acquiring the original content is the first step in the process. For this I use:

Image Acquisition:

  • Panasonic SVHS Camera
  • Panasonic PV-GS150 3CCD DV Camcorder
  • Fuji Hi8 Camcorder (great wide angle lens)
  • Multiple Super8 mm Film Cameras
  • Sony DCS-S650 Digital Camera (7.2 megapixels)
  • Intel Play Digital Camera (VGA resolution)

The source footage is refined and presented using some of the following tools:

  • Video Toaster
  • Final Cut Studio
  • Sony Vegas
  • Corel Photo Paint or the GiMP
  • Sketch Up
  • Visio (for laying out schematics and diagrams)
  • Open Office Impress (powerpoint)
  • ArKaos VJ
  • Projectors and Monitors
