I frequently find myself in the former mill town of Lincoln, New Hampshire. Once known for turning trees into paper, Lincoln has been embracing the tourism, skiing/snowboarding, hiking, condo buying population, and fighting every minute of it. There is quite a bit of love/hate between the local population and the "Mass Holes" who come up to create weekend traffic problems along the Kancamagus Hwy. Well, one of the things I have enjoyed since my first visit to Lincoln in 1999 is the former paper mill site. Once a mighty, smoke belching, river polluting factory that made large rolls of fine New Hampshire paper, the mill was shut down, and a chunk of the facility was turned into a mall of sorts. Meanwhile, the rest of the mill was left to rot along the banks of the mighty Kancamagus River. I have a number of photos of the mill, unfortunately for now all I have to upload were taken with my phone. So here is a shot of the mill I took in June of 2009. I will be updating this collection in the future. For now, enjoy one of the last pictures I took of the mill. It has been completely razed as of January, 2010.
